How to Remove a User from a Company or Entity in Frank

How to remove a team member's access to a company or entity in Frank, and what happens to their account afterward.

If someone no longer needs access to a company or entity in Frank, whether they're a former bookkeeper, an outgoing team member, or someone who was added to the wrong entity, you can remove them directly from that company's settings.

How to Remove a User

To remove a user from a company or entity:

  1. Click the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner of Frank.

  2. Select Companies from the left-hand menu.

  3. Click into the company the user belongs to.

  4. Select the Entities tab, then click the entity to expand its list of users.

  5. Find the user you want to remove and click the three-dot menu next to their name.

  6. Select Remove member.

What Happens Next

Removing a user immediately revokes their access to that specific company or entity. If the same person has access to other companies or entities on your account, those stay untouched. To remove them everywhere, repeat the same steps for each company or entity they're a part of.

If a user has been removed from every company and entity, they'll no longer be able to see any data in your Frank account, though their invitation record may still appear in your Users list until fully cleared.

Changing a Role Instead of Removing

If you want to adjust what someone can do rather than remove them completely, use Change role from the same three-dot menu instead of Remove member.

Summary

Go to Settings → Companies → [Company] → Entities, open the three-dot menu next to the user's name, and select Remove member to take away their access to that company or entity.
