To get the most out of Frank, you'll need to connect your Australian bank accounts so Frank can access your real-time financial data. Frank uses Basiq, a secure open banking platform, to establish this connection.
Why Connect Your Bank Accounts?
Connecting your bank accounts allows Frank to pull in your transaction data automatically, giving you up-to-date insights into your cash flow, income, and expenses without any manual data entry.
How to Connect
Go to your Frank dashboard and navigate to the Connections or Settings section.
2. Select Add Bank Account or Connect a Bank.
3. You'll be directed to Basiq's secure connection flow, where you can search for your bank.
4. Select your bank from the list of supported Australian financial institutions.
5. Enter your online banking credentials. These are passed securely to your bank via Basiq β Frank never stores your banking password.
6. Authorise the connection and your accounts will be linked.
Supported Banks
Frank supports a wide range of Australian banks and financial institutions through Basiq, including the major banks (ANZ, Commonwealth Bank, NAB, Westpac) as well as many smaller banks and credit unions.
Security and Privacy
Your banking credentials are handled entirely by Basiq, which is an ASIC-regulated, accredited data recipient under Australia's Consumer Data Right (CDR) framework. Frank only receives read-only access to your transaction data β it cannot move money or make changes to your accounts.
Troubleshooting
If you have trouble connecting your bank, try the following: make sure you're using your internet banking credentials (not your mobile app PIN), check that your bank is supported, or try disconnecting and reconnecting. If issues persist, contact the Frank support team for help.
Summary
Connecting your Australian bank accounts is a one-time setup that unlocks Frank's full capabilities. Once connected, Frank will keep your financial data up to date automatically.
