How do I connect my bank accounts?

A step-by-step guide to connecting your bank accounts to Frank, including how to add, update, and remove accounts.

Connecting your bank accounts is the first step to getting Frank up and running. This guide walks you through the full process, from your first connection to managing accounts over time.

Getting Started

Once you have created an account and are logged in, navigate to the Banking page. You'll be greeted with a "Get started" message and a button directly underneath.

  1. Click Connect Your First Bank.

  2. Select the bank feed that applies to your region:

  • Plaid — US banking and most Canadian banking connections

  • Flinks — Canadian banking where Plaid is not available

  • Akahu — New Zealand banking

  • ACSISS — Australian banking

  1. Search for and select your banking institution from the list provided.

  2. Enter your account credentials to log in.

Tip: Have your login credentials ready before you start. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) may be required when connecting your account.

Once Frank has made a secure connection, select the accounts you want to bring online (e.g. Checking, Holdings, Credit Card) and click Continue.

Best practice is to connect all business-related accounts so Frank has a complete financial picture.

Frank will begin uploading transactions and redirect you to the home screen. Allow 10–15 minutes for all transactions to appear.

Adding, Updating, and Removing Accounts

To connect an additional bank account or credit card, select Connect New Account at the top of the Banking page.

To update, re-sync, or remove an existing account, pull up the account on the Banking page, click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, and select the action you want.

Note: Removing an account will permanently delete all associated transactions and any rules tied to that account.
